The Plateau State Commissioner of Transport, Mr. Jatau Davou Gyang hinted that N600 million was spent to repair the broken rail in the state.

According to Gyang, no levy was collected for any individual as the government funded the repair of the dilapidated rail.

Unfortunately, after the experts invited from the railway corporation in Lagos finished their assignment, the Jos railway broke down again during a test run.

The commissioner, who was briefing journalists at the Ministry of Information Conference Hall at the J.D. Gomwalk Secretariat in Jos, said that the breakdown of the rail does not mean experts failed in their job.

The commissioner declined to comment on the cost of the 30 Metro Buses purchased by the state government to cushion the transportation problems of the pedestrians.

Explaining that they were exclusively purchased and paid for by the Governor of Plateau, Mr. Caleb Mutfwang, the commissioner disclosed that even the CNG buses promised to all the states have not been delivered.
